Are You Ready to Become a Master Communicator?
Why be "good enough" when you can be "THE BEST"?
Hello and welcome.
If you’re here, thank you — truly — for trusting me with your time and attention.
My name is Sabeen Hamood, and before I ever stood on a TEDx stage or won Best Delegate at Harvard, I was just a girl who wanted to be seen.
The Girl Who Never Belonged
Growing up, my family moved constantly. I was never in the same school long enough to build deep friendships, and every time I started to settle, it was time to pack up and start over again. With every move came a fresh classroom of already-formed friend groups — and a quiet hope that maybe this time, I’d find people who would stay.
But I didn’t.
Instead, I grew up feeling like an outsider in rooms full of people. Like I was too loud, too excited, too much — or not enough of whatever everyone else seemed to be.
I used to think my first heartbreak would be about love. But it wasn’t.
It was the realization that I could feel lonely even in a room full of people who knew my name.
That I could laugh, speak, even lead — and still not feel seen.
I didn’t want to fade.
I didn’t want to disappear into the background.
I wanted to climb up on rooftops and scream. I wanted people to remember my name.
And maybe, just maybe, I wanted to finally belong.
The Day I Discovered My Voice
Then came Model UN.
No training, no experience — just desire.
I entered my first conference with one goal: be unforgettable. And for four long, intimidating days, I stood against people taller, older, more polished. But I had something they didn’t: hunger. The kind that doesn’t go away when you lose — it gets sharper.
I didn’t win first place that day.
But I won something better: a podium finish — and a purpose.
I went to every conference I could. I kept speaking. And slowly, my voice became my place.
Until one day, I walked into Harvard.
And I walked out… a world champion.
Why This Substack Exists
This space is for anyone who has ever felt voiceless, invisible, or unsure of how to take up space.
It’s for the student who panics during presentations.
The professional who feels small in big rooms.
Here, I’ll be sharing:
Practical speaking tools
Tips on voice, confidence, and presence
Reflections like this — unfiltered, honest, and hopeful
And to start you off, here’s one tool I love:
The 1-2-3 Method (Impromptu Speaking)
Impromptu speaking used to terrify me.
No prep, no slides, no time — just me, my voice, and 30 seconds to figure out what I believe.
This simple structure helped me turn panic into presence.
Here's how it works (conversationally):
When someone throws you a random question or topic, break your answer down like this:
1. One Clear Opinion
Start with your stance or first thought. Don’t hedge. Own it.
2. Two Supporting Ideas
Give two quick reasons, perspectives, or examples that back your stance. Doesn’t have to be deep — just honest.
3. Three Ways Forward
This is your takeaway. Offer three possible actions, reflections, or questions the audience can walk away with.
Example (Topic: "Is social media good for us?")
I think social media is powerful but dangerous.
It gives people platforms, but it also creates constant comparison.
So: set boundaries, follow people who inspire you, and take breaks when you need to.
This framework won’t just help you speak clearly — it helps you think clearly. And that’s the goal.
Bonus Content: I have added a handout I usually give to participants during my trainings. Enjoy ;)
